Our marriage is not some fairy tale.
And my new wife?
She’s not exactly a fan of the crown jewels.

I’m a prince and heir to the throne of Salasia. I’m the most eligible bachelor in Europe.

You’d think any woman would be ecstatic to marry me.

Except for the one woman who I must marry to save my throne. She’d rather give me a poison apple than true love’s kiss.

Now the pair of us must convince the world that our marriage isn’t just a convenient arrangement.

As for me?

I’ll prove to this stubborn princess that happily ever after isn’t just for fairy tales.

The Princess I Hate to Love is the conclusion to The Heir Affair Duet, beginning with book one, The Prince I Love to Hate.

Great ending to the cliffhanger in the last book! After the previous book, where we find that Nimah is actually royalty, rather than Oliver, and they make an agreement to get married in order for him to continue his path in life, I was interested to see what would happen with this couple. Nimah is essentially American, having been raised there almost her whole life, and between the shock of becoming a princess as well as her background, the people of her new country aren’t the fondest of her, and we see her work really hard to win over the hearts of the people. On the other end of things, Oliver is working through his feelings towards Nimah as well as learning how to be in a relationship and not focus on the duties he had/has that go with his title. I also love how Oliver and Nimah’s brother forge a friendship against anyone who wants to hurt Nimah – namely her father, and I also love how much she grows into herself and her personality here. I loved their HEA and that we got to see what happened to them years later after they finally admit and act on the feelings, they had for each other. I can’t wait to see what comes next from this author!

Niamh and Olivier are married but he's finding it's not going to be so easy to win over his American bride. Nor will it be easy for her to win over the hearts of her new country.

This is a sweet, fun royalty story. I loved Niamh and how much she grew here, and of course how Olivier wrestled with his growing feelings for his bride of convenience. The marriage of convenience trope is one of my favorites, and when it's in a story like this one, even better. Loads of chemistry, lovable characters and a great storyline combine to make a wonderful story of royal love.

This was a good continuation of the story. Part two of of Nimah and Oliver's duet, finds them navigating married life while forces surrounding them try to tear them apart. As these two fall in and admit that they love one another, Nimah has to learn to live as a royal. Oliver learns that love means respecting your mate and putting love above duty. It was so cute watching Oliver and the kittens. With so much baggage between the two, can they find a way to stay in love or will lies and speculations tear them apart. Sometimes you have to pave your own path.

This book was everything I expected and much more! Definitely my favorite of the duet, just as fun and hilarious as the first, but with more sarcastic moments from Niamh and a bit more sensuality from Olivier. This is the best sequel The Heir Affair could have and I found it perfect from start to finish.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't fall even more in love with Niamh's personality in this book, I love how she's still herself and makes her in-laws and Laurent go through awkward moments., she’s playful, reckless and the most sarcastic and funny. Without a doubt what I loved most about her was that she made Olivier suffer a little, I really enjoyed the constant stretching and loosens up who makes him go through and where I lead each of those scenes. But not all were happy moments while reading Niamh, because she faces difficult situations that make her think that she is getting a bit lost: she has to make difficult decisions to protect Liam and his family, the people of Salasia do not receive her in the best way and her way of handling things doesn’t help her much, and as if that were not enough, she constantly has the feeling that the only thing that Olivier cares about is the crown and protecting his family secrets, something that is nurtured by him on more than one occasion.

For her part, Olivier became in one of my favorite characters and he will surely stay in my heart for a long time. I absolutely LOVED that this time the story was told from her point of view, and that helped me better understand her feelings towards Niamh and the confusing situation in the one found. I think one of the things that surprised me the most about his character was reading his doubts about how to handle real affairs without hurting Niamh and vice versa, and this time it’s evident from the beginning that Olivier feels something more than a physical attraction to his now wife, he is constantly worried about her, about her comfort in Salasia and her problems adapting to her new life.

I think Olivier & Niamh are made for each other, they have similar personalities, and at the same time very different, and in this book they are even more fun, sarcastic and much more sensual than in the first. Although at first things are not easy for either of them, it’s quite obvious what they feel for each other. I loved reading a more detailed, affectionate and adorable Olivier towards Niamh, to a boy willing to reach the heart of the woman he loves and her being as charmingly difficult as ever.

Another thing that I loved was that I had the opportunity to read more about the secondary characters that I already knew, which allowed me to change my opinion about Olivier's parents, learn much more about Liam’s personality and life, and verify that Niamh's father is the real villain in this story. But my favorite character was Laurent Olivier's secretary, who is absolutely kind, dedicated and funny.

Without having to think twice, I HIGHLY recommend this duet, it’s one of the books that has made me laugh the most and a love story worthy of royalty.

🇪🇸

The Princess I Hate to Love is the second part of the Heir Affairs duet. You definitely should read this duet in order. Niamh and Olivier are married so that Olivier can remain the Prince, but he has kind of cast himself as a villain to his new wife. Determined to win her heart, he encourages their attraction and tries to find ways to make her life easier. But when he’s forced to pick between duty and love, what will Olivier choose?

Ms. Morland does not normally write duets, and while I had a few issues with the first book, I adored reading this book! I definitely did not want to put it down once I started it, and I really loved that we got this whole book from Olivier’s point of view. I liked that there were certain parallels between the books and hurdles that they both needed to overcome in order to look to their future with any sense of happiness. Getting to know Olivier better in this book, seeing his motivations and his inner struggles with his family, heritage, and duty, I began to like his character so much more than I did in the first book. I liked how much he wanted to take care of Niamh, how much her happiness meant to him, and how he needed to face some facts about himself before he could fully win the heart of his wife. Even though we didn’t get Niamh’s point of view in this book, I thought it was brilliant because we already knew her from the first book. We knew kind of what made her tick and how much she liked Olivier. I loved that she stood up for herself and made mistakes and fought for their love in the ways she knew how. There’s definitely passion between the characters, a bunch of hiccups, heavy on the royal drama with a bit of giggles thrown in, too. I enjoyed reading this book!

If it were ever possible for a fairy tale to be real in our mixed up world, it would be this duet. It's a 21st century Charming and his princess come to life, complete with all the outrageous situations you'd expect out of the first year and a half we've had so far. Get ready for tiaras, felines, fisticuffs and closed door shenanigans quite unbecoming of heirs to a monarchy.

The first book ended in a jaw-dropping cliffie that left me desperate for the second half of Olivier and Niamh's story, and the conclusion definitely didn’t disappoint. We pick up with the royal couple while the echo of the wedding bells can still be heard.

Part marriage of convenience, part endeavor to save the throne, this royal tale is more a story of “what can go wrong will go wrong,” rather than wedded bliss. Oliver and Naimh have their work cut out for them, but they learn a lot about each other as well as themselves as they navigate their newly charted course.

Lighthearted but full of feels, there's plenty of heart on this captivating, bewitching ride. This unexpected princess will charm you just as much as her prince makes you swoon, and you'll love every minute of their road to forever. This delightful, unique, high-spirited tale will be one of your favorite royal rom-coms, so make sure you don’t miss it! (And, don’t believe the blurb. Princess Niamh is quite fond of those crown jewels. 😉)

I loved the plot of “The Princess I Hate to Love (The Heir Affair Duet). It was quirky, quaint and quizzically poetic. I liked Harvard grad and heiress Niamh Gallagher and Prince Olivier Valady, Prince of Salasia, a fictitious sovereign. Their search for Olivier’s mother’s clock and Niamh’s wayward dad, Connor Gallagher started an interesting journey. It was a steamy romance for sure.

Then why give it three stars??? The mechanics of the book were dismal. The author can weave a good tale that no one would bother to read because of the bad transition between one chapter to the next. The author skipped whole scenes, days even without proper transitions. The author also would state ideas and occurrences which never were resolved or mentioned again in the book. Example, Niamh’s grandfather’s (Sean Gallagher) letter to his only son Connor; Sean’s lawyer and Niamh’s inheritance of the estate in Dublin; Olivier’s meeting with Connor in Dublin ( mentioned by Connor but not fully explained to the reader of how it took place) and finally, the conversation between Olivier and his parents about his Aunt Mary. Why wasn’t this in the book?

I could go further, but you catch my drift. This author gets an “A” for thinking up the story and a”D” for the execution. I don’t regret reading this. Some readers might not notice the inconsistencies like I did; but this book needs a good editor for sure. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.

In my review of Book 1 of this “Heir Affair” series I mentioned I was hooked and waiting for Book 2. I can say Iris Morland did not disappoint with The Princess I Hate to Love. Actually she did even better with this than the first...if that was possible.

Niamh and Olivier pick up where we left off with secrets abound and questions unanswered. Choosing to move forward together for business purposes can always be trying. Not to mention, royal families seldom get to skate under the limelight of photographers and paparazzi, so rest assured, these two are not immune.

But it is funny how things can change with time and understanding. For our two heroes some lessons are best learned by battle through fire. When that fire shares a bloodline, the strength of our characters comes to light even more.

Throughout this story, constant surprises and new twists seemingly appeared in every chapter. But in the end, Olivier and Niamh find what really matters. Their HEA is heartwarming. And with that mindset I happily give Iris Morland all the stars allowed. You have given me fun, fast and fantastic all in one series. Well done!

This is the second book in the duet. If you haven’t read the first book yet, then don’t read my review. In the last book we found out how terrible Niamh’s father was, and that he was going to try to blackmail Oliver’s family as Oliver was not the King’s biological son. His mother was pregnant with him when she married the King, but the King raised him as his own. Niamh’s grandmother was actually royalty and Niamh’s brother was next in line, then her. Oliver talked her into marrying him. It had to be so hard for Niamh being married to Oliver as she was an outspoken person who didn’t want anyone telling her what to do. Needless to say she wasn’t well liked by the people to begin with. I was glad to see Oliver and Niamh become closer and talk some about their feelings. Niamh’s awful father was still causing trouble, it was funny how Niamh’s brother flew over a couple of times as he still felt he needed to protect his sister. I loved the ending. I encourage you to read the book, especially if you read the first one. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

In The Princess I Hate To Love, it continues from the book one cliffhanger.

Niamh and Olivier are figuring out their life together. That includes...being married.

Told from Oliver’s point of view, it was interesting to be inside of his head. We were able to know just how much he cared about Niamh, his irritations with her (and royal life) plus all the ways he protected her even when she didn’t know.

What I enjoyed was Niamh stayed true to herself even after her situation changed with Olivier. She remained the same Niamh around the help, Laurent and even her in laws. What would be seen as detrimental behaviour to others in the palace, Olivier appreciated.

The chemistry and sex between Niamh and Olivier had me wanting more of them. I may just need to find a cleaning supply closet of my own. Finally, in true royal fashion, there is a villain. That villain was Niamh’s father, Connor. I thought I would have felt bad for him, all things considering, but once Olivier expressed his dislike for Connor I couldn’t help but agree.

The Princess I Hate to Love is the conclusion to The Heir Affair Duet, so YOU HAVE TO READ The Prince I Love to Hate (Book 1) FIRST! So, Prince Oliver is next in line for the throne, and obviously the most eligible bachelor around because girls love that fairy tale. Well, most girls except the girl who is going to marry him to save the throne, Niamh, as all kinds of secrets have already been revealed. And Niamh has no desire for all of this because she doesn't want other people telling her what she can or can't do, which I didn't blame her for one bit. Oliver is determined to make Niamh his completely with no fakeness about it, but he has quite the road ahead of him. Oh, and once they finally do start communicating & catching feelings, there are many of those who don't want them together so more bumps are coming as you already know palace intrigue always runs rampant LOL! This is all I'm going to say about that, and if you want more, you know what to do! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

An arranged marriage was never part of the future Niamh wanted but she agreed not only for Olivier but for the good of Salasia as well. The transition is not without its challenges as she feels like an outsider both in the royal family and with the people she serves and the only word for her relationship with Olivier is complicated.

Getting Niamh to marry him was only part of the battle as now Olivier needs to show her that they are meant to be together. When he is torn between his loyalty to his family and his love for Niamh will he be able to find a balance that will include a happy ever after for everyone?

The interactions between Niamh and Olivier are humorous as they try to do what is right both for themselves and for everyone else as well. Although the way they began wasn’t a fairy tale it was great to see them acknowledge their feelings for each other and realize what truly matters in life and love.

Niamh & Olivier
Book 2 in The Heir Affair Duet
This is a follow up to The Prince I Love to Hate, so be sure to read that first. A lot is uncovered in the first book about the true lineage of both Olivier and Niamh. Due to what they discover he proposes they marry.
The connection and chemistry between the two is fierce, but Niamh tries her hardest to keep Olivier at a distance and “hate” him in the beginning. They have great banter, which has only grown even better in this book now that they have gotten to know each other better.
You get Oliviers perspective in this book and his desire for Niamh is so strong it burns right off the pages. His intentions appear one way but in his thoughts are clear they are completely different.

In the first part of this duo we get everything from Niamh's point of view, so it's no surprise that we now spend time with Olivier. That boy is so utterly frustrating, you'd think he'd know better how to consider stuff from Niamh's point of view - but no he just blunders along. Niamh is great as ever, and while she does her best to become the royal expected by the pubic she still is very much herself. There are some folks I did just want to reach into the book to do some violence too...some people don't even deserve the title of being called human -_-

There are some great moments in the read - some laughs, fluff, surprises and kittens :) All in all this is a great - and oh so steamy - conclusion to the story.

This is book two in The Heir Affair and concludes Oliver and Niamh's story. Oliver and Niamh are the total opposite of each other in this funny, emotional romantic comedy but as they travel together they start to see each other in a different way but what a ending. I couldn't put this book down and there were many twists and turns along the way and that is what makes this book a real page turner that you don't want to end. Iris Morland is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend that you read this book and others by her and you will not be disappointed as she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention.

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

My wish came true and we get Olivier's viewpoint! Except now I'm feeling bi-polar and wish that we also could have gotten Niamh's thoughts too... I wish both books were dual point of view, haha. Either way, I really liked this novel and how much both Olivier and Niamh grew throughout this story. Communication is so key and these two had to learn that the hard way, sadly.

I really enjoyed this storyline and watching both characters realize their full feelings by the end.

I'm glad I got the chance to read this book!

This is an extremely angsty follow-up story to how Niamh and Olivier met one another and uncovered a viper’s nest of family secrets. Now they’re both doing their duties to their families to keep those secrets buried, but are either of them happy with the situation? This book put me through the wringer. It broke my heart only to put it back together again so many times. But along the way, it also kept me laughing while I watched this pair stumble and fall in love with one another only to come out better, stronger, people for the experience.

This is book two of a two book series. Niamh was raised by her brother Liam after their father has skipped out on them and their mother died when she was only a couple years old. Now their father is threatening to blackmail Oliver, the Prince of Salasia. Because of this and to save her brother, Niamh marries Prince Oliver. This story tells of their trials of married life as they didn’t know each other. Also Niamh’s father has sold nasty pictures of his daughter to be posted on the internet. The witty dialogue, the characters, the drama and the steamy love make this book an amazing read. Naimh and Olivier are a perfect compliment to each other even with their faults. Their royal circumstance strains their love and marriage but, their hearts stay true. Whether it's a diabolical father, an over protective brother, a loyal servant or a bunch of cats, Naimh and Olivier manage to navigate the scandalous waters to find their happy ending. This is a terrific book and I highly recommend the duet.

It’s as much the development of a romance as it is that of a power couple.
4.5
The story ended with Olivier’s (somewhat forced) marriage proposal to save his throne and solve his problems. This part is interesting because the narrator changes and becomes Olivier who will have to face Niahm who has not been prepared to be a princess, to face journalists, politicians, who does not want to appreciate her husband (this which is rather hard because she liked him a lot before)
I liked that the heroine's difficulties were seen through the prism of the eyes of Olivier who himself had to face these feelings for her.

What do you get when a bull-headed American woman marries a high-handed prince? Lots of angst, steam, and betrayal. In the other half of a duel by Morland, Niamh & Olivier have to come to terms with the choice they made to save a crown & a brother.

This quick, easy read was entertaining from start to finish. I rooted for these two to work out their issues/differences and prove to each other that love can conquer most anything. Scandal, family issues, and just overall stubbornness is rampant in the book, but I enjoyed reading it.

This is the conclusion to the duet. It is a very enjoyable read that had me laughing out loud so many times. I loved the characters and the story line. I enjoyed this conclusion to Niamh and Olivier's story... plenty of ups and downs for these two as they take their fake relationship and try to come to terms with their true feelings. There are crazy antics as in the first book that left me laughing out loud and cringe-worthy moments as well. It was interesting getting Olivier's perspective in this book. Kind of sorry to see their story come to an end... wonder what Iris Morland will bring us next...

This is the second book of the series, and as with the first, I've enjoyed going on Niamh and Olivier's
turbulent journey with them.

I thought the characters, main and secondary, were well written, as were the plotline(s).
There are lots of twists and turns in this story, some you see coming and others not so much.
Plenty of humour, misunderstandings and angst along the way.

This was a really good continuation and finish for this story. It picked up really well and and the characters were really well written. It seemed like there was a little more sarcasm and wit thrown in this one, which I loved, and the character interactions just continue to be great. The story will have you laughing out loud and just waiting to see what comes next while cheering for that HEA. Such a fun read!!

WHO IS THE REAL ROYAL?

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

The story continues with Niamh and Olivier married and neither confessing their love for each other. The viciousness of Niamh’s father is one to boggle the mind. Niamh and Olivier have some difficult decisions to make if they want to get their HEA. This story is fraught with family secrets, deception, and good intentions gone bad.

So here's the thing...this conclusion to the story didn't meet my expectations. Something about it felt off to me, and I cannot fully figure it out. Yes, there were somethings that made me happy, but over all, the book was just okay. Nothing overly exciting about it. I wish I could say that it was the best thing ever, but unfortunately it wasn't. Yes, I loved the HEA. Yes, I enjoyed how Niamh handled her dad. Yes, I loved how Niamh's brother came barreling into town. Yes I love how the scandal was handled in the end. But that's about it. Olivier just seemed childish at times. So did Niamh. That frustrated me. Also the fact that Niamh was just supposed to know how to act in certain situations when she wasn't raised as a royal? Yeah, no. I'm still glad I read the conclusion to the story, I just wish it had been a bit different.

This is the conclusion to Niamh and Olivier 's story. Tbh, this is definitely better than the first book. Their story is unconventional to start with and contrary to how the cover looks, there's more twists and turns, dramas and ups and downs to their story. But the author did not miss to provide some laughter with their antics. I loved how Olivier is with Niamh and how he show he loves her. It was a fun read.
